Jacq is a queer Latinx poet.

They were born in Santa Monica, California in 1991 and raised in areas of the San Fernando Valley. They relocated to the Bay Area with their mother in 2007. Soon after, Jacq dropped out of high school to study performance art in San Francisco. They later moved alone to Los Angeles in their late teens. They have lived in and waited tables across California and in Southern Indiana. 

Jacq received their B.A. in English with a minor in Creative Writing from the University of California-Berkeley in Spring 2017. They are currently working towards their Creative Writing MFA at San Francisco State University.

Their work has appeared or is forthcoming in Bettering American Poetry, Berkeley Poetry Review, The Fem, Apogee Journal Folio, Gravel Magazine, Columbia Poetry Review, TQ Review (Damaged Goods Press), Yes Poetry, The Nottingham Review, and MISTRESS. Their collage work was recently featured in 'Not Even': Poets Make Collage at Bushel Collective in Delhi, NY. Jacq is currently completing their first chapbook, Greater Grave, forthcoming in 2018.
